DEPARTMENT OF ANIMAL BREEDING & GENETICS
The department deals with teaching and research on cytogenetics and population genetics and breeding of different species of animals and birds. The Department offers 10Credit Hour Courses spread in two academic years (5 Semesters) to the B.V.Sc. & A.H. students during the first and second year of the degree programmes and supporting postgraduate (M.V.Sc.) courses. The Department emphasizes in evolving new strains of animals suitable to agro-climatic conditions and socio-cultural requirements of NEH Region, conservation of important native germplasm and development of transgenic animals.
